ReUnion

As we begin to gently re-introduce ourselves to our nearest and dearest after months of staying in at home, we hope to never lose touch with what the quarantine has re-introduced us to: a quiet and loving inward journey.

While our Mindful Muse slowly adapts to the new normal and joyfully re-unites with her circle, she maintains time for listening and loving herself. To her, the understanding is clear: that a deep ReUnion has begun, one that links her to her inner child and to her higher self. She is grateful for the social reunions that are a beautiful way to reconnect with others, and she has a keen knowing that at the heart of reunion is ReUnion.

We see ReUnion as an inner homecoming, one that is the undercurrent of any sincere relational reunion. ReUnion is a heeding of our inherited intuition, a welcoming of our earnest hearts' desires (in the yogic tradition, sankalpa), a vowing to be true to our Selves. And we say these things in the present tense, knowing that ReUnion is a constant choice, moment to moment.

The pieces in this collection are classic but modern, pared-down but substantially elegant. We allowed ourselves to be inspired by what is seen design-wise to be "vintage" and by what is typically considered youthful. Our sincere hope is that these pieces both inspire our Mindful Muse to continue on the inward journey of ReUnion with Self, and celebrate her progress on this path.

One big source of inspiration for this collection is this poem by Derek Walcott:

LOVE AFTER LOVE

The time will come
when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you

all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.
